New Recruits off to Crowborough 8th-10th April 2005

As part of their basic recruit training, 282 recruits were taken to Crowborough Training Camp to practise the skills they learnt over the past few weeks. The weather was excellent and the cadets thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was a good introduction to a few of the aspects of the Air Training Corps.

For the senior cadets of the squadron, a long walk with a few command tasks was their task while the recruits were continuing their basic training. A few teams managed to get lost but eventually found their way. The squadron also invited along 56 (Woolwich), 2324 (Chigwell), 2408 (Campion) squadrons, with a total of 36 cadets which made it like our own Easter camp…..

Everyone came away with lots of knowledge and had lots of fun. Cdt Rodrigues showed himself as an excellent new recruit, and received a new rucksack from the squadron, well done. All the cadets participated well and all passed the basic training, well done to everyone. We look forward to the advance Crowborough later in the year. Look at this months newsletter for more info…
