On a freezing Sunday 27th February, 282 squadron entered 3 teams in the annual Wing 5-a-side competition held at 64 (Paddington) Squadron.

The Open Girls team consisting of Cpl Jurado, Cadets Bryan, Santos, Davies and Nwike fought a fierce battle against 4F (Ilford), but unfortunately lost 2-0 in the First round. The Junior Boys team weren’t too impressive as they lost an embarrassing 8-0 in the First round. The team made up of Cpl Halai, Cadets Pell, Lock and Hyland tried putting up a brave front with only four players but were out played by the opposition. The Open Boys team made up of F/Sgt Akhtar, Sgt Khan, Cpl Hamilton, Cpl Sullivan and Cdt Khan did much better by reaching the Second round. As expected, the Second round game against 1838 (Elm Park) Squadron was fast and furious, and they were made to work hard to earn their 3-0
