282 Do Waltham Walk 2005

The Squadron took part in the annual Waltham Walk, a 30 mile trek across Essex combined with a number of challenging tasks. Even though the event is organised by the Boys Brigade the squadron attends every year. we are the only ATC squadron to attend. it contributes to the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and provides excellent walking experience.

One of the teams led by Corporal Hamilton, together with Cadets Belaynah, Hyland and Lock succeeded in completing the gruelling trek.

Cadet Lock said "it was very tiring but worth it. my team was fast and we overtook about two teams at every checkpoint."

At the end of the weekend the organisers arranged presentation ceremony where we won two trophies. One of the trophies was won by the staff team of CI Chris Booty and CI Joe Harvey for finishing second place in the super-veterans category.

Well done to all those that took part!
