27th January is known World Wide as The Holocaust Memorial day. The squadron took part in a local ceremony held at Newham Town Hall on Wednesday 27th January 2010 to remember all those who lost their lives as a result of the Holocaust.

The Squadron is dedicated to remembering such events and strongly believes that its everyone's duty to remember so that we can all ensure that events such as the Holocaust never happen again.

The Holocaust is the term generally used to describe the genocide of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, a programme of systematic state-sponsored extermination by Nazi Germany.

The Squadrons past President, Odette Hallowes, was held at one of the camps operated by the Nazis. She suffered extreme torture and interrigations in an attempt to find the location of other agents.

We always reflect on her bravery and dedication to Duty. She was lucky to survice her ordeal and earned the 'George Cross' for her heroic efforts.

"I strongly believe that it is our Duty to attend such ceremonies and to spread the stories. We have to remember what happened during the Holocaust to ensure such attrocities never happen again". As said by Sgt Booty.
