The summer of '09' has been busy for 282 Squadron with many cadets going through their Duke of Edinburgh Award, expeditions were plentiful!

Many cadets embarked on expeditions to complete the Silver and Gold expedition aspects of the 'Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme' into the Snowdonia National Park. This was a first for the unit and proved to be a great challenge for the cadets, but they accepted the challenged and made it to the summit, 3,560 ft high!

3 cadets who were on their Gold qualifier expedition past with flying colours. All the other cadets were on 'training' and done extremely well.

The reward for all staff and cadets was a trip to Quazer in Chester and a session on outdoor rock climbing and coaststearing.

It was a fantastic week enjoyed by all. Snowdonia was an experience for all at 282 Squadron and may very well return there.

Earlier in the summer, 8 cadets went on the first london Wing Bronze and Silver expedition to the South Downs and trekked the South Downs Way.

With more GOLD candidates on the Squadron, the next challenge is the Lake District, and possibly next year, the GR20 trek in Corsica!
