After months of training led my the Squadron NCO team, the cadets met at Mile End stadium for the annual Inter Squadron 5 a-side competition.

The girls and Senior Boys battled to the semi-finals but were beaten. Both teams played well and the girls made it to panalty shootouts with just 4 players.

Their was no stopping the Junior Boys who made it to the final against 1475 Squadron. Their opponants won the match but had to fight hard for it!

Many of the Squadron cadets were selected to represent the London Wing team and went on to play 5 of the other Wings in the London & South East Region. The London Wing team showed no pain as they scored goals against all their componants.. losing no matches!

With the most resisitance recieved from Kent wing, London Wing teams gave a good game in all catagories. After many years, the Senior Boys pushed forward and broke the Kent wall; beating them 2-0.

Cadet Sergeant Kirabira was the Senior Teams goalkeeper, "The pressure was on and i had to concentrate so much. We were determined to break Kents line".

"This year has certainly been a vast improvement for us in regards to football. To see cadets from 282 Squadron represent many of the sporting activities the Air Cadet organisation have to offer at higher levels is fantasic. Its good to see us lead the way in a variety of sports and do well", as said by Sgt Booty.
