Every year, Squadrons are given a number of places to attend various RAF camps around the UK. This year the Squadron was given the chance to visit both RAF Digby in Lincolnshire and RAF St Mawgan in Cornwall.
Cadets from both camps got the chance to go flying in the RAF Grob Tutor, a primary trainer aircraft at RAF Cranwell and St Mawgan respectfully.
In addition to this, sea kayaking and coaststeering was also undertaken.
"I had never been on a kayak before, let alone go out to sea in one. It was exciting and lots of fun" as said by Cadet Kinzley.
Drill and inter flight competitions were also on the agenda. Both flights that won on each camp were commanded by 282 Squadron NCOs.
"Summer Camp is a great way to show leadership skills as you are mixed in with cadets you have never seen before. Inter personal and communication skills are developed well at camp and we continue to encourage cadets to attend these camps as it helps them with their self development" as said by Sgt (ATC) Booty.
Cadets get the opportunity to travel abroad to various RAF stations around the world, such as Cyprus and Gibralter. There really is no limit in the Air Training Corps.
