Ford's Remembrance Ceremony, Thursday 10 November 2005
On Thursday 10th November 2005, 282 cadets visited Fords Dagenham to commemorate and honour the memories of those who died in the company during the War.
Cadets who attended were: CWO Akhtar, Sgt Hamilton, Cpl Khan, Cdt Hyland, Cdt
Savvides, Cdt Singh.S, Cdt Farrely and me Cdt Simon.
It was an eventful day as everyone paid their respects to the heroes and
victims of the past, by laying a poppy wreath and observing a minutes silence.
After the service we were given a tour of Fords Dagenham factory on a "golfing
buggy". The tour around the huge site showed how they build the different
types of car motors.
We all had fun but also remembered to remain serious and well-behaved, which I
hope gave 282 Squadron an even better reputation. I'm confident that the staff
of Fords Dagenham were impressed with our turnout.
I'm sure we all had an enjoyable time, each in our own different way and I
recommend anyone if they get the chance to attend next year.
Cadet Simon
